Prerequisites: A state POST Firearms Instructor course.  POST Instructor Development course is strongly encouraged. This course is Law Enforcement and Military only.

This course is designed to certify law enforcement officers in the instruction and integration of night vision and IR laser technology into their team’s current operational capabilities; and to certify tactical officers in the safe use of infrared lasers.  Students will understand, demonstrate and teach-back the following topics to a high standard:

• Night Vision (I2) technology and function
• Legal issues
• FDA IR laser safety standards and NoHD
• NVG / Laser / IFF system integration
• Individual operator setup
• Terrain and hazard navigation
• Non-verbal communication
• Carbine and handgun engagements and marksmanship standards
• Exterior team movements
• Interior team movements
• NVG to white light transitions
• Initial and in-service training methodologies

Course hours: 1800-0200

Equipment List:

• Common Sense
• Carbine with 5 magazines (Carbine should be zero’d when you arrive)
• Carbine magazine pouches
• Handgun and 3 magazines
• Tactical holster
• Handheld and weapon mounted lights
• Night Vision device and helmet mount
• Weapon mounted IR Multi function aiming laser
• Ballistic vest (Level IV or III ICW plates) and ballistic helmet
• IFAK and TQ
• 400 rounds carbine ammunition
• 200 rounds handgun ammunition
• Electronic hearing protection which fit under your helmet
• Clear eye protection
• 3 green chemlights or PID light
• Water and snack food
• Weather appropriate clothing
• Pen and notebook (you will be taking notes)

Lodging:

The training facility has on-site lodging for $60 per night.  There are no nearby hotels. Email Chappy@forgetactical.com to reserve a bed.

Range Fee:

A $30 per student, per day, Range fee is required and paid separately to the Range.
